We think we know, and we are convinced of the motives for our bei havior. One of my professors illustrated this point by telling a story of a woman who goes to pay a biU. She gets five dollars change too much. But shed like to keep it So what doss she say? Theyve got more money than I have. Theyre all big crooks, anyway. They must have gypped me often. Ill keep it to get even." Now, is that the real reason she keeps the money? No! She keeps it because she wants more money. Set July 20 v V Tired of your own cooking? These boys, who have been in trouble with the law before, have been referred to the juvenile court Method of Entrance They gained entrance by picking a lock on the door leading to the corridor, then used a Stillson wrench to twist doornobs of the concession doors to obtain candy. On July 10, three Magna youths, ages 17 and 18 years, wantonly drove a car all over the Brockbank junior high school lawn as well as Oquirrh Stake House lawn and flower beds, damaging them in a terrible manner. The youths were brought before Judge D. S. Walker, the driver of the vehicle fined $100 and the other two $50 each, with the stipulation they must also rectify and take care of the damage. Last week, vandals, evidently using an auto, tore down the lattice work around the Magna Community Park lavatories, then proceeded to push their car with such force around the slippery slides that they were badly bent and partially demolished. I did last week, and my youngest daughter said, Watch me. Mama! I applauded and admired her. She glowed under the 'Admiration and approval. Adults are just the same. Of course we cant run around openly demanding, Watch me! Watch me!" We learn to do it more subtly. We do it with our 'big cars, expensive furniture, college degrees, furs, diamonds. Unfortunately, more people want to be loved than are willing to do the loving. Said one girl, T was involved in a triangle-- he and I were both in love with him. Everyone seeks the security of a permanent and enduring love. O. K. FOTHERINGHAM has a quotation, This, too, shall pass away. A good rule. Sooner or later, in one form or another, trouble comes to everyone. It is the one experience we all have in common. Some break under it and .lose their faith. Others face it, overcome it, and strengthen their faith. Trouble is not an unfair or capricious interruption in the normal processes of life, but it is a necessary part of everyones life. Ability to meet trouble is the supreme test of every human being. There Js nothing hat re' veals character so much as the way we stand up to it Talking to Howard A.
