There are many other reasons why all good citizens should support Magna's annual cleanup: Streets, when kept clean and in good repair, are more inviting and safer from accidents. . . Vacant lots, when cleaned up and converted into playgrounds, no longer are eyesores or fire hazards. CIVIC PRIDE should persuade every citizen to work for cleaner and healthier communities. The Chamber of Commerce and Community Council are to be commended for taking the lead in this worthy endeavor. APRIL-ls- top-tra- de Flo VJcnos In Granite BECAUSE the past winter has been exceptionally warm and dry, the traditional spring clean-ufor Magna and area is of greater importance to community health and safety this year than usual. During a dry winter more rubbish and other combustible materials accumulate, and the danger of fire increases. The Magna Chamber of Commerce and Magna Community Council announce that this cleanup will be held April 20 to 25. A home is a more cheerful and healthful place after a thorough cleaning. A paint job on the house or garage does wonders to spread brightness and cheer throughout the neighborhood. The householder who cleans up and paints around his premises is regarded as a citizen, one who takes pride in his place and his town. THE VALUE of a homeowner's property increases, as does that of his neighbor when he keeps his lawns, flowers, shrubs, garage, fences and his house, neat and clean. Industry benefits also, from regular clean-uprojects. Employes are more contented and interested in their jobs in a plant that's kept clean, with grounds Clean surroundings make for sunny dispositions, too.
