Two Women h Magna Miss Places High In Skating Meet Firecrackers Two women were injured by thrown firecrackers on the July 4th holiday, Mrs. M. Janson, who was visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Jay Larsen, and Mrs. Vera Conti of Salt Lake City, formerly of Magna. Mrs. Janson suffered a cut on her leg when a firecracker exploded in the Community Park grandstand and Mrs. Conti, standing in front of the Magna Drug, watching the parade, had a cut on her arm when young boys atop an adjoining building threw firecrackers down. Mrs. Janson was given first aid treatment by Bob Dea and Mrs. Conti was given medical attention by H. T. Dyches. The .fireworks at the park, bombs, rockets, set pieces and roman candles were set off with safety by the committee in the annual public fireworks sponsored by the American Legion and Fire Department. Rockwell and family have departed for Morro Bay, California, where Dr. Rockwell will continue to practice medicine. No successor to his post has as yet been named. a DON LUND Don Lund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lund, 3276 Katherine Drive, Magna, was appointed to represent the Utah Wing, Civil Air Patrol Cadets, at a Jet Orientation meeting being held at the Perrin Air Force Base, froip July 6 to 12 in Texas. The young man is a graduate of Cyprus High School where he lettered in football and wrestling. He was a cadet commander for Cyprus for two years. He received the proficiency award for his work as a cadet. Don received his aeronautical training from Captain Jess R. Jensen, instructor at Cyprus. Each state has one representative attending the meet. REGARDED MAGNA LADY SUCCUMBS . Mrs. Charlotte Eames Draney Larson, 71, Magna, died Thursday afternoon in a Salt Lake rest home of pneumonia. She was born February 27, in Almo, Idaho, to Harry T. and Julia Knight Eames. She married Asa W. Draney in 1905 and they were later divorced. Married to Carl J. Larson September 28, 1938 in Salt Lake City. He died May 13, 1957. She was active in the Relief Society, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints and served as captain of Pleasant Green Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, for four years.
