Show ,,.na Tfn$, Mg'sno, Utch Friday, IF CHRIST HAD NOT COME Somewhere I came across a story of a boy and Christina. Among other things he had been promised something very special for his gift a bicycle. He went to bed Christmas Eve and very early in the morning came down stairs to see what he had received. Strange to say, no one was There wasn't any Christno bicycle. mas tree, no presents He called to his parents, but no answer came, so thought they would be at the church decorating for the Christmas service. He left to find them, but there wasnt any church just a space where he thought the church should have i DLZk stood. S1F i I 3f2 cpUnb. Strangely worried, he returned home and went back to sleep. Suddenly a voice came from downstairs, Merry Christmas, John. Aren't you ever going to get ready to enjoy this wonderful day with us? It was his Dads voice. He quickly dressed, ran downstairs and there was a beautiful Christmas tree, wohderful gifts indud' ing his bicycle. In wonderment he related the story of his earlier morning experience to the family. Gently his mother said, John, you dreamed that All the things you saw 48- in had not come. This is just a simple little Story, but there is a depth of meaning. If we took out of this world all the things that are here because He came, what a barren place earth would be for any of us. And yet if we accept the things he brought, what a wonderful Paradise earth becomes. When he was born, the first we heard from Heaven was a word of peace. An ancient version tells us that the way Angels chanted it was Peace on earth to men of good will. We feel sure readers will agree that nowhere can there be peace without goodwill. That is true either in Europe or in Magna. Either m front of, or behind the iron curtain, either in the quiet streets of our little town or in the hearts of men, be they employes or employers, this little town seems to be guarded all around by the hills of God.
