Have you signed your sewer pledge yet? For, many citizens have climbed on the wagon that will be in the finish line for the completion of the sewer-a- nd will save $50 on a share of sewer stock by signing up now. By signing before the sewer work starts the end of July, property owners may obtain shares of stock for 100 of the customary $150. Three hundred pledges must be signed in order to obtain this reduction, but a great deal of enthusiasm has been shown in the sewer, since Salt Lake county started advertising for bids, so that work will begin within a month. Shakespear of Garfield, met his death Thursday in the Garfield canal, after he neglected to heed his mothers advice and come home. The youngster, accompanied by a playmate, had been mother told him when his playing to cqme home. He started walking along the canal towards the Garfield swimming pool with his friend. He slipped into the canal, and although his young friend ran ale for aid, it was most a too late before help was obtained, Paul White and Marjorie Humphreys, unable to fcee the childs body, waded in the canal until the White youth stumbled on the child, almost twenty minutes after he had fallen in, according to deputy sheriff W. J. Reynolds. Local firemen and Dr. D. A. Moffat worked over the child with a resuscitator, but were unable to revive him. The child had lived in Garfield for two years. He was bom August 21, 1937 in Springville. Surviving, besides his parents, are two sisters, Betty and Karen Shakespear, and a brother, John Bruce Shakespear.
