Show Friday, July 12, 1940 MAGNA TIMES, MAGNA, UTAH THE He reported that up until about eighteen months ago no active work had been done in relation to Utahs traffic problem, but with the help of the National Safety Council the Utah Safety Council was organized. TIMES MAGNA Published By Th Copper Prmling Company Edith N. Ridge, Editor Howard Ridge, Publisher Published Since 1916 Entered as second class mail mailer under lhe ad of March 3rd, 1879 al Magna, Utah Issued each Friday morning at Magna, Utah , He stressed the fact that the purpose of the organization was to make' Utahs highways safe for motorists and pedestrians and that although enforcement was one means of accomplishing this purpose, it was only a means to the end of making the highways more safe rather than for the purpose of gaining revenue. He also said that the Safety Council based its entire activities on accident reports and recommended to the organization that they make it one of their projects to encourage people locally to report any and all automobile accidents. Mr. Simpson went into detail in outlining the drivers license phase of the Safety Councils activity and stressed the point that when three or four traffic violations have been listed against any one particular driver, he is sent a warning letter and upon the next violation, having been reported to the Tax Commission, the drivers license is either revoked or suspended. By this means they hope to eventually reckless drivers from the highway. It should be of interest to local people that Mr. Joseph G. Hadley of the Utah Copper Company is one of the executives of the Utah Safety Council. tec nth day of September, A. D., LEGAL NOTICE 1940. Prudence QBourke, executrix of the estate of Martha L.
