H started boxing at the age of 14, attended right school, won some f'ghts, and later boxed with the intercollegiate team at Kansas University. War. Then he volunteered for the Spanish-America- n After his Omaha fight, Bert accepted offers in Laramie, Salt Lake City and Butte. After quite a bit of moving around he entered Cache Valley at the turn of the century. I was in my own private car a box car, he used to laugh.
