LOGAN CITY PROVIDES HEALTHFUL, INTERESTING RECREATION FOR BOYS AND GIRLS DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS One of the pitchers of the 17 Little League teams delivers a ball during a game at Crimson field. Each team practices once a week under the supervision of Cliff Poole who is in charge of Little League Baseball, and plays one game a week. Other practice sessions are often called. Between 12 and 15 boys are on each team. This year there are two leagues, the Gold League for in the fourth and fifth grades, and 10 and 11 year-old- s in the the Crimson League for 11 and 12 year-old- s sixth grade. Two out of every three boys in these three grades are playing baseball this summer. , t 1 4 Girls like softball, too, at least 39 teams in the four Logan stakes are playing games at least once a week. Love Painter is in charge of the girls division of softball under the direction of Murray Maughan who is city director for softball. The s teams are classified in divisions according to their records and play a double elimination tournament at the end of the season. win-los- Four playgrounds, the Adams Park, Central Park, high school and Ellis school, are open from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 10 to August 10. From 50 to 60 children attend each of these a day. i Supervisors who plan the activities are Vida Bowcutt, Lola Tingey, Mrs. Clara Larson and Julie Bemtson.
