Church leaders, general board, stake and ward this afternoon joined in paying tribute to one of Provos greatest women, Mrs. Martha Ann Smith Harris, who died Friday morn ing at the age of 82. The funeral services were held in the. stake tabernacle. The speakers were Apostles George. Albert Smith and Joseph Fielding Smith, Stake Presidents. N. Taylor, Mrs. Eliza C. Nelson, Robert Taylor and Bishop Joseph Nelson of the Sixth ward, who conducted the services. The invocation was offered by Andrew Knudsen. Music was furnished by Maris H Homer, Sarah Ramsey, Carol P. Pyne, Sarah Dastrup, Peter Jensen, Roland Olsen, Murray Roberts, Jr A. Clayson and Professor J. R. Boshard, who directed the singing. This group rendered the selection When First the Glorious Light of Truth Burst Forth in This Last Age. The second musical number was O My Father by Marie Hedquist Homer and a quartet. The selection was a request number. Mrs. Bullock and Mrs. Pyne sang Hold Thou My Hand, and Professor J. R. Boshard and Mrs. Sarah Ramsey sang by request a duet, I Know That My ReThe final selection deemer Lives. was by the quartet, which rendered Farewell All Earthly Honors. The speakers paid sincere tribute to the exemplary life of Mrs. Harris, who was a daughter of Hyrum Smith, the first patriarch of the L. D. S. church, and a niece of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Her devotion to the church and her activities was praised highly. Anderson, 757 South Fifth West street, this morning at 10 oclock with Bishop Joseph Nelson of the Sixth ward presiding. The invocation was offered by Theodore Farley. The speakers were Noel Dastrup of Sandy, a grandson of Mrs. Dastrup, Postmaster John W. McAdams and Bishop Nelson. Musical numbers were furnished by a trio consisting of Dan Webster, Mary Grey and Verde Banks. Mr. Webster also sang a solo, and a duet was rendered by Mr. Webster and Verde Banks. The benediction was offered by Bishop Nephl Anderson of Manavu ward. Following the services the body was taken to Sigurd, the former home of Mrs. Dastrup. Mrs. Dastrup was 86 years of age. She was born in Denmark in 1839, and came to Utah on September 4, 1861. She first settled in Sigurd, Utah, and afterwards moved to Cotton, and subsequently to Richfield and Monroe. She was president of the Sigurd Relief society for many years, being released on November 14, 1911. She moved to Provo in May, 1920, and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Anderson. She enjoyed good health until a few days prior to her death, which was due to causes incident to old age. ' She is survived by five sons, Peter and Ole Dastrup of Sandy, and John, Ephraim and Jacob Dastrup, all of Provo. Four daughters also survive. They are: Mrs. A. M. Anderson of Provo; Mrs. Anna Cowley , of Richfield, Mrs. Mille Gould of Monroe and Mrs. Emma Cowley of Sigurd.
