Illinois,! Kansas and Nebraska have between 7 0 and 8 0 per cent of their farms equipped with telephones; Ohio, Indiana, Missouri and, Minnesota from 60 to 70, per ! Lack of telephone service in the southern states is accredited largely to the nature of land tenure, a large being operproportion of the farms conated by tenants on short-tim- e tracts and few southern landowners haye felt sufficient need of telephonic "communication with their tenants to warrant the development I of such a service, Great stretches' of rugged country and distance are the chief barriers that have kept down the per cent J of rural telephbnes in the western farmf ing states. The1920 census of jagriculture shows that 38.9 per cent of all the farms in the United States, or approximately two farms out of every five, have telephones. This rural development of telephone! facilities is far ahead of that in ariy other country of the world. ' First Step Important We are masters of our first step and slaves of our second. No man or woman who eats too much meat can make a mistake by Hushing the kidneys occasionally, gays a well known authority. Big meat eating may develop uric acid, which excites the kidneys; they become overworked from the strain, get sluggish and fail to filter the waste and poisons from the blood; then we get sick. Rheumatism, headaches, liver- - trouble, nervousness, dizziness, sleepiness and urinary disor ders often come from sluggish kidneys. The moment you feel a. dull ache in the kidneys, or your back hurts, or if the urine is cloudy, offensive, full of sediment, irregular of passage or by a sensation of scalding, stop eating meat and get about four ounces of Jad Salts from any pharmacy; take a tables poonf ul i a glass of water before breakfast, and in a few days your kidneys may act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for generations to flush and stimulate the kidneys; also to neutralize the acids in. urine so it no longer-- causes irritation, thus often ending bladder weakness. Jad Smalts is inexpensive and can-noinjure;, makes a delightful effervescent lithia water drink, which eVeryone should take now and then to help keep the kidneys clean and active and the blood pure, thereby, often avoiding serious kidney complications. - 7 K 5 lb.
