MONDAY, MARCH 26, 1928 SCHOOL CHILDREN TO DISCUSS PHASES OF CLEAN-- UP CAMPAIGN Junius Banks, In charge of the general publicity work ,of the Utah Home County Clean Town-Clea- n campaign, announces that the county committee has approved plans for an essay and an oratorical contest in the schools of the country. The essay contest will be confined to the ninth and tenth grades, while the oratorical contest will be confined to the eleventh and twelfth grades. The essay contest will be a county competition, with the following prizes offered for the best compositions: First prize, $10; second prize, $5; third prize, $2.50; fourth The essay may be prize, $2.50. written on any of the following subjects: Your Community Is Your Job. What I Owe to My Community. How My Community Can Be Im proved. s. Community The competition for the prize in oratory will be in each high school of the county. A first prize of $5, and a second prize of $3 will be offered for this contest. The subjects will be the same as those outlined for the essay contest. The purpose back of the offering of these prizes, according to Mr. Banks, is to stimulate the interest and activity of the school children in the movement, and to use that of the agency for the conversion adult citizens of the county. Practically every community in Utah county is now organized for the work and ready to proceed with the various local problems which have been undertaken. The score card just announced by the state committee makes clear the objectives to be sought for in Utah county between now and July 1.
