So says Wilbur Glenn Voliva, overseer extraordinary at Zion City, in his latest official edict. . Men and women, says the edict, must bathe 500 feet apart, the father taking his male offspring and the mother the female. A battle to death between a rattlesnake and a huge eagle on the rocky cliff of the Seven Devils Mountains, near Lewiston, has been reported by Ben Camp, a sheep rancher. Camp was watching a rabbit from the shade of an overhanging rock when the eagle swooped down and hooked its claws into the bewildered animal. The king of the air paused an instant to tighten its hold, but during the moment a large rattler slunk. out of the underbrush and engaged in mortal combat with the bird, while the rabbit scampered raway apparently unhurt. The eagle rose, its claws literally tearing the lower half of the reptiles body to shreds. At a height of 100 feet it succeeded in freeing itself of the snake. Then it wavered, crumpled up, and crashed to the cliff a few feet from where the , snakes shredded body had fallen. The eagle had a wing spread of eight feet eight inches. The reptile had sunk its fangs into the birds neck just long enough to inject its poisonous venom.
