BEEF CATTLE Trade in fat cattle opened slowly. The few desirable fat cattle here were quoted steady, and the plain, medium and common kinds which predominated were 15 to 25 cents lower. Some fairly good fed steqrs brought $9.50 tho $10.05, yearlings $8.75 to $9.50, and grass fat steers $8 to $8.50. Nothing 'prime was offered and prices on the quality basis were steady. Ordinary and fair classes sold at $5.15 to $7.25 and showed the decline. Butcher cattle showed about the same price tendencies as steers. Veal calves were steady. STOCKERS AND FEEDERS Good to choice fleshy feeders and the best straight stockers and feeders brought strong prices. Other grades sold slowly, with common kinds, down 25 cents. 10 lbs.
