He will set forth his belief in a series of 15 lectures, which carry him as far west as Chicago, There is no money in the pilgrimage. It is a labor of love and the proceeds of his tour will be used in furtherance of what he calls the cause. Sir Arthur became interested in spiritualism more than 30 years ago, but following the death of his son, j j ! w-i-ll EFFORT of the conscientious director, to render a superior type of service no' matter in what financial circumstances the bereaved family may be, has characterized our work through the years. SPIRITS HARD TO REACH. Summing up spiritualism, Sir Arthur declares with firmness that it is possible to communicate with the dead. In the first place, - Mortuary he said, successful communication with the spirits depends much upon the me dium. 'It is a very delicate matter, and some are more delicately sensed than others. Those are the successful mediums. Many mothers and wives in England have been in sue cessful communication with their dead. Spiritualism is spreading fast in England, particularly among those who lost loved ones in battle, think the same condition obtains here, and I will look into the matter first hand. I was born a Roman Catholic, but early in my life gave up that form for the higher belief I am now practicing. I believe in a Supreme Being infinite, omniscient and omnipresent. NOT A PERSONAE GOD. Sir Arthur was asked if it were a personal God. No! he answered. It is a great force. Spiritualists are, as a whole, somewhat of the Unitarian type. I Hjnow what my fate will be in the next world; 'I know every detail of the after world, of what will happen after what we call death happiness. STIEE RESPECTS CHURCH. Sir Arthur said that he first took up the study of spiritualism 3G years ago. As a physician, he said he became very much of a materialist, and that aided him in his recearch in the vast psychic field. I have a great respect for the church and its teaching, he continued. Though I have withdrawn from my church, I have a great respect for its priests and counsellors. But when, as a young man, I was some times compelled to go to church, a day, it was as many as three times too much.
