Six students will compete. Four- were eliminated in the tryout last week. The basic topic for the contest is Citizenship. The contest-ants, will draw one of the subtopics anU speak for four minutes on the topic drawn. Girls Day last Friday was one of the big days of the year. Features of the days program were: chapel program by the girls, a candy sale, a bazaar, a vaudeville, a special issue of the school paper and a leap-yedance at night. Even some of the boys have expressed a wish that girls day might come oftener than oncewasa year. Mr. Parley P. Hindmarsh the lucky winner of the Bluebird quilt. The girls wish to thank all who assisted in making the day a success, especially those who helped so kindly with the vaudeville. Friday is Utah County High School Day and will be celebrated in Spanish Fork. Provo High School will probably go en masse to support their contestents in the various events. A full track team will go from the local school and Miss Arvilla Singleton will represent the school in the reading contest. She won second place in the same contest last year. May 4th, when the following program will be carried out: Selection, school orchestra; prayer; ladies chorus, comprised of the members of the graduating class; salutatory address, George Leob; reading, Merle Davis; instrumental duet, Mr. Banks and Mr. Woffinden; address to graduates, President F. MISS LOYNDS VALEDICTORIAN Miss Gladys Loynd, a member of last years intercollegiate debating team, was last night chosen, by unanimous decision of the faculty, the valedictorian of the 22 graduating class of the B. Y. U. The graduation exercises are to be held on June 2nd. Miss Loynds has not as yet chosen her subject, but will be expected to occupy about fifteen minutes. She is a graduate of the Springville high school, a member of the 1919 class. She has always been an active student at the B. Y.
