In reply to two open letters addressed to the board, we wish to make the following statements: 1. Our reasons for malntainfhg a junior high school are: gives each student a great; er election of courses than could any elementary school. (b) It provides a trained teacher for each subject instead of one teacher for all eleven subjects. In order to have a school that is worthy of the name of the Provo high school it is necessary for every student to be a member of the Btudent body organization, to support the teams in every contest and to be present at the socials. This makes student body spirit ,it teaches citizenship and develops leadership- .- It is not hn unimportant lde of the childs education. The plan of charging a general student body fee is the only one that has made successful student body organizations In Utah high schools. As the story goes, the two principal characters, Eleanor Ashe and Hugh Ledyard, are Introduced to each other when the latter rescues the former from a suicides death. Hugh has just been jilted by the girl he was engaged to and out of pique marries Eleanor. It may be imagined that two strangers, both smarting under the unkind arrows ot outrageous fortune company for each other, and if dramatic complications had. not started to crowd around their lives together almost from the start, they would have been in a fair why to hate each other. However, when they are both closely bound' in a tangle of circumstances which threaten to swamp them, they come to appreciate each other and the end is inevitable. Hugh finds happiness worlds apart from where he first found it, and his adventures take him through many perilous paths through the underworld and dens ot Chinatown. His adventures have a salutary effect on his character, however, and rubbing shoulders with the dregs ot humanity awakens from an idling, indifferent son of the careless rich to that of a man of the world, who understands that all men are brothers. John Lynch, author, the R. Cecil Smith, scenarists, and Alan director, have given their combined efforts to this OBrien picture, and with such a supporting cast as yiive Tell, W. H. Tooker, Florence Billings, Arthur Housman and Louise Prussing, an. uncommonly good picture may be expected. 1921 h, Economic, difficulties and industrial problems which now seem serious can be, and will be, solved In only one way, and that Is by finding exact justied and enforcing it. The better that labor is conditioned, the higher its reward and the wider its opportunities, and the greater its comforts and refinements, the better will be our civilization and the safer will be our government, the more sacred our homes. "For myself, I am convinced that the (rue solution of the questions arising between labor and capital lies in an awakened public conscience, in a thorough Inculcation of the spirit of fair dealing among men, then in organization and in wise, humane leadership and in the establishment of boards ot conciliation or arbitration which are absolutely free from the polluting touch of selfish interests or political demagogues, to which the interests concerned may freely and confidently appeal. I believe, too, that we must develop a reasonable method for honest and efficient labor to have an opportunity to acquire an interest in the business to which It is expected to give Its best efforts..
