The afternoon service's closed by the singing of The Time is Far Spent," after which Asll B. Johnson offered the benediction. T Sunday Morning. At the Sunday morning session thq theme of th speakers was charity to the dependent and- unfortunate. Mrs. Ines Knight Allen, president of the stake Relief society! gave a resume of the charity work done by the society during the last six months, and stated that during this month a drive wonld be to raise funds with which to carry on the welfare work. President George H. Brlmhall urged the saints To assist the Relief society in their unselfish work for the poor. ."To give the poor and needy, said President BrimhaH."ls nothing more than being good to ourselves. As well be a clod as to be a man without gratitude and sympathy." Bishop David A. Smith, President A. Hart and Bishop Joseph A. Buttle speaking along the same theme, stated that la was part of the religion of Saints to give a porthe Latter-da- y tion of their sustenance to the support of the needy. The invocation was offered by Patriarch J. B. Keeler and the benediction was by Myron Crandall. Sunday Afternoon. Following the Invocation by Bishop - George R. Maycock of the Sprlngvllle Fourth ward at the afternoon session the general authorities of the church and officers of the Utah Stake were presented and unanimously sustained. President T. N. Taylor, the first speaker, ' declared that as he visited each organisation in the church separately, he found sufficient responsibility resting upon each that It seemed to him that If those engaged in the work devoted their entire time to the organization they would have enough to do to keep them busy. He spoke . of the work of the various quorums of tbe priesthood; and as he touched on the duties of those bearing the priesthood he urged the members to devote their lives if need be to the work, declaring that those who did so would be more than paid for their efforts. He asked the saints to attend their sacrament meetings and President especially fast meetings. Taylor referred briefly to thu wonderful work of the Relief society and urged the people of this stake to give that organization their full support, H also touched on" tbe Boy Scout movement and expressed a hope that It, too. would receive the support It merits. He spoke on the need of family prayers In the home and the effect of such devotion upon the children. President Guy C, Wilson of the Latter-da- y Saint university spoke of financial galna as being of little value aa compared with those who enjoy spiritual blessings brought to them . by correct modes of living. Charles A. Hart spoke of th process of developing ideas which he - - declared was slowand required much but stated that things patience; worth while do not aa a rule come by leaps and bounds. He urged members of the priesthood to be more diligent in carrying on the work required of them. Bishop David A. Smith was tbe final speaker and he explained through scriptural reference the different degrees of glory. During the afternoon session musical numbers were furnished by the Tabernacle choir. Prof. J. R. Evans, Murray Roberta, and Mertlne Thurmond Stein. The congregation sang "America' after which Elder Arthur N. Taylor offered the benediction. Religion Class Meeting. The conference closed with a meeting Sunday evening nnder the direction of the Utah 8take Religion Classes with Sterling Taylor presiding. The meeting opened by prayer by John Fescber. Music was furnished by- - the - tabernacle choir. Percy Thatcher aang a solo, and Wllford Dean gave a report on tbe religion this stake. An part on tbe program was the manner In which Charlie Owen, an Indian boy of SprlngTllle, conducted tbe memory exercise work.
