Browning was chosen on Octo- 27 from a field of 28 appli- by members of the selec- tion panel and travel board. Browning attended BYU on a full scholarship in vocal perfor- and later attended the Elkins Institute of Broadcasting in Dallas, TX. His career took him to Branson, MO in 1984 where he landed a job with one of Bransons famous music shows where he performed comedy rou-be- r tines and sang on the show fore live audiences, In 1986 Browning was hired and master of as ceremonies for the Roy Clark Celebrity Theater, also working as a comedian and feature act e there. The Theater was the ing force behind Bransons rise to national prominence as a tour-bee- n be-can- ts vice-preside- nt driv-Kan- ist destination. Browning as-f- or sisted the president in planning the roster of guest entertainers, including Ray Stevens, Mel Tillis, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, the Smothers Brothers and many more. He also assisted in the daily operations of the 1100 seat theater.
