In the top of the second an e hit and a hit error, a batsman loaded the bases with no outs. Things were looking mighty bad for Fredonia. After a pop up to the mound got one out, the runner on third was tagged out at the plate while trying to score on a passed ball by the Fredonia catcher. A strike out ended the inning and the Lynx had played their way out of a big ut - two-bas- hole. What could have been a great momentum builder failed to pan out, however, as they failed to score in their half of the inning and Bagdad came right back with two more runs in the top of the third on a walk and two hits, a single and a double. Fredonia picked up their only run of the game in the third inning on two walks, a stolen base and a wild pitch. The score was 1 after three innings, but the Lynx were still hitless. Bagdad scored another run in the fourth innjng without the benefit of a base hit. The Lynx collected their first hit of the game in their half of the fourth when, with one out, Nate Tait hit a sharp grounder to short, the ball took a bad hop, hitting the Sultan shortstop in the chest. Tait outran the throw to first for Glazier also had two RBIs on a single in the first inning. In the second game, Kanab again jumped out to a lead, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. The Rams countered as their leadoff hitter Barney, ripped the second pitch of the game from Noel for a homer. It was the only hit they would get off Noel as he shut them down the rest of the game. The Cowboys added four more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to . get the 1 victory. James Narramore ripped two hits and scored twice to lead the hitters. A hard-hi- t the alley in right-centwas good for a double. Kevin Simmons pitched a good game for Fredonia in that he kept the game under control and within reach. In seven innings, he was touched up for eight hits and five runs with only three being earned runs. The Lynx fielders committed six errors in the game. Kevin struck out two while only walking two. He also hit two batters. Fifteen Lynx batters went down on strikes while they only recorded two base hits. Eight Lynx batters walked. Bagdad did not commit an error in the game. The Lynx fielding was outstanding at times, though a bit sloppy at other times. With only two hits and without an earned run in the game, it looks like they could use some batting practice. Bagdad 21, Fredonia 1 . The second game was more of the same, only a whole lot more so. In these two games, the Lynx hitters saw the best pitching they have seen this year. Of the 36 outs recorded by the Sultans in the two games, 29 of them came er by strike out. Fredonia managed only one hit in the second game, a fifth inning single by Richard Wheatley.
