Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS News Utah Highway Patrol During the period from January 8th through the 28th, the Utah Highway Patrol stopped 591 vehicles, issued 372 citations, 298 warnings and assisted 22 motorists. January 8 Arrest. Jeremy Smith, Prescott, AZ. Mr. Smith was stopped for a traffic violation and found to not have registration, insurance and was using plates from another vehicle. Mr. Smiths license was also suspended. Drugs. Lonnie Rebworth, St. George, Utah. Rebworth was stopped for speeding and found to be in possession of marijuana & paraphernalia. Rebworth was additionally charged with driving while drugged. January 11 Accident. Keoni Stephens, Mt. Carmel, Utah. Stephens lost control of vehicle in snow and rolled onto top. Minor injuries, thanks to seatbelts. January 12 Accident. Lynn Paterson, Carstairs, AB, Canada. Paterson lost control of semi in the snow and slid onto side. He was uninjured. Partner in sleeper was struck in the head and was held for observation at hospital. Arrest. January 13 Gabriel Ortiz, Springville, Utah. Arrested Ortiz on an active warrant for $310 out of the Springville Justice Court. 15 Accident. Fermin Ramirez, Salt Lake City, Utah. Ramirez was run off the road by a white Ford pickup with black racks. Ramirez received minor injuries and the white truck left the scene and has not been located. January Arrest. Dean Sydney Smith, Scottsdale, AZ. Smith was stopped for speeding. A loaded weapon was found in Smiths car. Smith was arrested for loaded weapon in vehicle. January 16 Accident.
