Garfield County News) Garkane Powers Board of Directors met December 27 in Richfield where they were told by their attorney Marcus Taylor that 10 per cent of Garkanes members must sign a petition before they can place an issue to create an additional member dis-tri- V ct before voters at the cooperatives annual meeting in April. Southern District directors asked Taylor to prepare a petition and they are now available through directors or at local businesses for member signatures. Petitions must be returned to Garkane by January 20, leaving a little over one week for signatures to be gathered. Southern directors are determined to create the extra district and obtain more evenly distibuted representation on the board for members who live in the southern, more populous part, of Garkanes Add money at any time.
