Show Sports Cowboys beat up last place 37-- 6 to claim 2nd Enterprise d The Kanab Cowboys were still too much for last place Enterprise last Thursday as they devoured the Wolves 37-to finish the regular season at 2 and 1 in Region 11. Rory Brunner completed 10 of 16 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Boys. Chad Sturgill hauled in three of penalty pushed the Cowboy back 10 yards. The drive bogged down and Jason Blanchard booted a 25 yard field goal with 9:50 left in the second period to make the score 17-Enterprise took the kickoff and drove into Cowboy territory before the defense held and Kanab took over on their own 47. After a pass interference call on Enterprise gave Kanab the ball on the Wolves 25, the Cowboys reciprocated and two penalties pushed them back to their own 45. Brunner scrambled for a 15 yard gain, then with 1:02 left in the half, Rhees hauled in a 30 short-hande- 6, 7-- 6-- 0. Brunner's throws for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Scott Rhees caught the other TD from 30 yards out. It only took the Cowboys 1:56 to get on the scoreboard, when Brunner and Sturgill connected from 23 yards out on the fifth play of the game. Brunner ran the opening kickoff back to the Kanab 45. Matt McFadden rushed for 24 and nine yards on two running plays to set up the scoring toss. Enterprise got the kickoff on it's own 35 and drove down to Kanab's 34 before the Cowboy defense held and took over on downs. After a 25 yard run by McDonald, Brunner was intercepted by Enterprise on their own 15 yard line. The Wolves were forced to punt from their own six after a sack by Jason Blanchard and McFadden. The Cowboys had good field position as Brunner ran the punt back to the Wolves 27. Brunner and Sturgill wasted no time, hooking up again, this time for a 27 yard touchdown with 3:48 left in the first period, to up their lead to yard bomb from Brunner to put the Cowboys up 24-- 0 and the game was pretty well over by halftime. The Cowboys scored on their first drive after halftime, pinning Enterprise back on their own five. Kanab faked a punt on fourth and 11 from the Wolves 41 and Brunner hooked up with McFadden for 26 yards and a first down. Kanab con- verted another fourth down on Enterprise's six yard line, when Brunner kept a keeper good for four yards to the two. Nevin Alderman blasted in from the one with 5:37 left in the third to extend the Cowboy lead to Latimer Smith and nice screen pass to McFadden on fourth and 15 gained 16 yards. However, McFadden fumbled on the play on the Enterprise 3 1 . Three plays later, Kanab had the ball on their own 37 after another Wolves' punt. Two nice runs by Chris McDonald of 12 and 20 yards and a 26 yard pass from Brunner to Sturgill put the ball on the five yard line.
