The public library was born in the United States. It was created, primarily," to support , democracy and to inform citizens so they could better decide the issues before them. It was founded to help educate the young to the value of free expression and to the use of the resulting information to strengthen democratic and individual inquiry. In as much as Kanab City and Kanab City Library were both founded to support the citizens of this community in the democratic process of governments education and the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness, we proclaim to the world that we support National library Week, April 5 and pledge our continuous support in our efforts to provide the best library services that this community can in the years to come With the above statements in mind, we wish to invite the Kanab City Council and all citizens of the community to join in celebrating National Library Week, April 5 with your presence at a special Baby Shower on Friday, April 24 at 7:00 p.ra. in the Kanab City Library at its temporary location, 533 East 300 South in Kanab, Bringyour whole family and enjoy anhourwith Kanab Citys Mayor, Karen Alvey, the Kanab City Library Board of Trustees, and the Kanab City Library Staff. In as much as this is a Baby Shower to celebrate the anticipation of the long awaited delivery of your new Kanab City Library and after all the hard labor on the part of everyone in the community, we wish to report, on the progress made so far with news, stories and Fsrtemds self-governme- nt 19-2- 19-2- refreshments. We, the undersigned, celebrate National Library Week and support our communitys efforts to promote the ideals upon which it was founded by providing and supporting the best in library services. An exception to this rule is giant breed pets like Great Danes and St. Bernards who may experience bone development problems if they are fed a food that is too hot. If you have adopted a giant breed mix pup you should consult your veterinarian about feeding an adult food or mixing an adult and puppy food to temper the effects of diet on bone growth. Cats have unique dietary needs and are very carnivorous. They suffer serious side effects if fed treats, canned fish, or poor quality diets. What to feed. Feed your dog good commercial dog food and your cat good commercial cat food. Snacks and table foods are bad for your pet and will reduce his life span. . Water should be available for all pets of all ages at all times. Growing pets should be fed oh a regular schedule two or three time a day., j The easiest way to determine how much food to give a growing pup or kitten is to let them eat as much as they want for 20 minutes three times daily and put semi-moi- Dclmr, Stf Orphaned pups and kittens should be fed a commercially available milk substitute that resembles their mothers milk. Call your veterinarian or Best Friends for a recipe and feeding instructions. Special diets. Animals that are overweight or have heart, liver, kidney, and other disorders need special diets. Your vet can explain these to you and can prescribe them. Your pets are what they eat. So feed a good quality of balanced food. Avoid food that is marketed for one component. Choose a food that is balanced for the stage of your pets life. Also, avoid using food as a training tool and dont use food as a substitute for your love and your time. Consultyour vet on every visit about food and feeding. And watch for changes in your pets food consumption and stool as early warning signs of disease.
