Show . Sports WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 17. A tribute to the By Kent Mason They toil in obscurity, unnoticed and unseen. They go into the trenches to do battle and when the war is over they stand aside while others bask in the glory. They live in a world where their names are seldom mentioned until they do something wrong. They are the linemen on a football team. Many times their names are virtually unknown to the casual fan, but you can bet those names are very well known to their coaches and teammates. For lWt unknown-lineme- n these, the coaches and teammates know and appreciate the job the linemen do. They know that without a good front line, no team can win. The linemen play in the center of the action surrounded by other players who block the view making it so easy to pass over and ignore the action taking place there on every single play. A large percentage of the mass of an iceberg floating in the open sea is below the surface unseen and ignored until a ship strikes that iceberg, then it is that unseen portion which does most of the damage. An iceberg sank the Titanic. If not for that unseen portion lying under the surface, the huge ship may have survived. Each week the six young men Richard Tim mentioned above are sent out to Corley, Wheatley, Brandon Tait, Mike sink the Titanic. For the most Waters, Brandon Homer and part they do a very good job, and Jerry Johnson play on the line receive very little thanks or fan for the Fredonia Lynx. fare for what they do.
