Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 1996 Community 8 Obituaries Arleen Bunting Lanphere 'v Arleen Bunting Lanphere, 63, died Saturday, August 24, 1996 in the Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, South Dakota. She was born January 9, 1933 in Kanab, Utah to Preston and Clara L. Bunting. She married Lyle Thomas Lanphere October 11, 1955 in Kanab. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple on June 22, 1963. He preceded her in death November 18, 1983. Arleen grew up in Kanab and was employed by her father in the grocery store for a number of years prior to her marriage. Her husband worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and after the Glen Canyon Dam was completed they moved to Hardin, Montana. Jim was born February 22, 1927 in Roosevelt, Utah to William Highland and Albie Elnora Glenn Gagon. He married Ruth Gloria Lopez Berry, age 55, died September 4, 1996 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born April 12, 1941 in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico to Rafael and Susana Rangel Lopez. Married Gerald Wiley Berry on April 12, 1989 in Orderville, Utah. Glenn and Karen Goins and son of West Valley City visited at Tim and Jeanette Esplins. Karen served a mission in Georgia while Tim and Jeanette were stationed there at the army base. Clint and Riesha Roundy and family of Logan visited at Valvy Taits and Norman Roundys in Alton. Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Sorensen of Scenic, Arizona visited at the Dale Sorensens. Also visiting were Lisa Allen and Chase Morgan of Fredonia. Dale and Margaret Sorensen attended a horse shoe tournament in Richfield. John and Peggy Reese and sons visited Rena Tait. They are from Las Vegas. Wade and Jamie Carlson of St. George visited at Kyle and By Twila Cox Nellie Frost family held a family reunion at Lake Powell for three days with all children but one in attendance. A Vision Quest wagon train Our beloved mother, grandmother, and Margaret Lucille McAllister, passed away Friday, September 6, 1996 at the Kane County Hospital in Kanab, Utah. Margaret was bom June 9, 1906 in Pasadena, California to David and Vera Hartshorn. Margaret was one of six children. She went through Orderville Wednesday afternoon with seven covered wagons pulled by mule teams. The wagon train was from Arizona. Johnette Hardy of St. George Lawrence Johnson August 18, 1925. He preceded her in death May 7, 1939. She married Gordon Norris McAllister July 9, 1940. He died July 28, 1979. She was also preceded in death by three children; Barbara, David, and Joyce; one grandson Norris Swapp; two brothers and two sisters. Margaret is survived by her children Alfred Tom (Joyce) Johnson, Lucile Swapp, and Maiy Ann (Orson) Swapp all of spent the weekend with her mother, LaNare Tisdale. Annette Jackson and baby spent the weekend with Delbert and Karen Palmer. Cheryl Adair and Liz Sorensen spent the weekend here, with Beth Sorensen and friends. She truly loved life and was a great example of love and service to all her family. We will miss her greatly but we are so thankful for the wonderful years we shared with her.
