He was bom October 19, 1906 in Kanab to Samuel Ami and Polly Abigail Johnson Judd. He was married to Leone Jackson on May 15, 1931 in Panguitch, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Harvey was the projectionist at the old Kanab movie theater and was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He worked most of his life as a house painter and artist. He loved the beautiful red hills of southern Utah, and was a local authority on Indian ruins in the Kanab area. He donatedmany artifacts to museums. Hiking and bow hunting were favorite pastimes in his younger years. Harvey first approached the Kanab City Council about preserving the old Chamberlain-McAlliste- r home, now known as the Heritage House. He, along with Adonis Robinson and Dr. George Aiken, as a committee, took on the project. Harvey was put in charge of restoration and did much of the technical work himself, having had earlier experience in the restoration at Pipe Spring National Monument.
