The passport book will suggest things to see and do in each county. The traveler in Kane County can have his or her passport stamped with Browns creation. Her design, an old fashion camera that says, Kane County is Little Hollywood, symbolizes Kane County. Each county will have its own special stamp. Her other sketch, two circles between the circles, will be made into a rubber stamp. The Post Office will use the stamp on Im not an artist, I just love to and the words Kane County 4, 1996 as a cancellation stamp. Brown explained that she read about the contest in the SUN. I thought it would be a good afternoon activity for my children, she said. When three of her children entered the contest, Brown decided to enter her designs too, and won. There are many talented people around, and I thought no way can I win. The Kane County Centennial Committee sponsored the contest. Anna Westfall, a member of the committee, said Browns designs were presented nicely. They were the best designs for the county without getting into other county ideas. She added there were about 40 entries. January |
