After his marriage, he spent months at a time living in sheep camps, taking a few days here and there to visit his wife and child. Later, his brother Cornell and he bought a small spread and a few head of cows which they ran for several years. After selling the ranch, he contracted with the postal service to deliver mail to the North Rim and all points in between. He drove mail for twenty years until his retirement. After retirement he traveled the horse racing circuit of southern Utah with a few of his old pals. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas to shoot craps, or traipsfor ing around the country-sid- e petrified wood or simply gathering a few sticks of wood for his wood stove. His final years were largely consumed caring for his wife and stealing a few minutes here and there to visit his grand kids. He loved the outdoors. His eyes really lit up at the idea of getting out in the hills. It was out in his beloved hills that he finally left this mortal life. It was surely how he would have wanted it. His survivors include his wife of 67 years, three grandchildren and their spouses: Jo Lynn and Gaylen Hoyt of Logan, Utah, Robin and Carolyn Hamblin and Carol Lee and Eldon Hunt, all of Kanab; Foster grandchild, Maeta Beck of Pleasant Grove, Utah; 16 sisters, Claudia Fawcett of Kanab and Tamar Wilding of Orem, Utah.
