Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 1994 School 8 The cast of "Scrooge" selected Utahs "Caring The Kanab High Drama de- partment announces the cast selected to perform in the December 8, 9, 10 and 12 productions of Scrooge. Scrooge will be played by the Ben Tanner, a senior this year competing for multi-talente- d a performing arts Sterling Scholar. Thefollowingtalented students will play the corresponding parts: Jason Rhodes as Bob Cratchit; Michelle Brown as Mrs. Cratchit; Sarah Vreken, Kristen Cserepes and Brian Merrell as Cratchit chil- dren; Cindy Singer asTiny Tim; Tanzi Robinson as Mrs. Dilber, Scrooges cleaning lady and James Elliott as Hawkins, the ragpicker. The ghosts are: Brandon Bartlett as Jacob Marlev with newcomer Nathan Palmer as hL understudy; Adam Crosby is Christmas-Pa.st- , Nick N'annenga is and Shon Foster Christ-mas-Presen- t, is Christmas-Future- . Scrooges one-tim- e Mr. Fezziwig. The cast also includes the tal- ents of Donny Cox,Linsey Stevens, Kim Geiger, Joe Willis, Rachel Reidhead, Greg Hamblin, Daniel Church, Lise Olsen and Andrea Stevens. Heading the make-u- p will be Mariah Alderman, also competing for performing arts Sterling student contest Coordinated by Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Caring for Animals, a student contest sponsored by Utahs Week for the Animals, encourages literary and visual creative efforts: stories about animals, poems, posters, sculpture or a combination. Prizes are $250 for the Grand Prize, $ 125 for First Prize, and $75 for Runner Up in each group: grades ss 1-- even students from Kanab Elementary will complete the cast. Their audition will be held Thursday and Friday, Sept. 29 and 30, immediately after nchool. With outstanding scenery, lighting, costuming, special effects and acting, this will be the largest production Kanab High has ever produced. Dont miss it! Also new to Kanab, from one of our sponsors Adam Petersen, will play Southern Utah Neus. Young Scrooge and Torrie Casebolt will play Belle, his sweetheart. Adding to the cast is Ronnie Glover playing employer, Scrooges for Animals" Scholar. Amy Brown is the stage manager, assisted by Wade McCoy, April Singer, Alicia Bremness and Rodney Staton. The technical crew will include Dustin Taylor, Chary Baird, Joey Pepper, Ammon Kesch and Denim Robinson. Dance Sterling Scholar hopeful, Tristan Ford, will oversee the demanding choreography. Her dancers will be announced after auditions. Members of the singing group will be a part of the cast as well as band and orchestra members, under the direction of McKay Shields. 2. schools in Utah may enter.
