Show School SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 15, 1993 8 KHS Attendance Policy Any absence that is NOT PREAPPROVED will be considered as an unexcused absence. Unexcused absences will be handled in the following manner: A student must serve one hour of detention for each unexcused hour (maximum of two hours). Detention should be served the day that an unexcused absence occurs. If circumstances prevent a student from serving detention on the first day, they may postpone it until the following day. It will, however, require that an additional hour of detention be served. If a student chooses to not serve detention, he will be suspended until a parent meets with the principal. A second failure to serve detention will result in the student being suspended and referred to the Board of Education for readmission. Students that are involved in school activities will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming activity if an unexcused The twelve new kids on the block at Valley High School posed out in front of the school on one of their first days. A motion was made to accept applicants who applied correctly according to the law, and refer anyone who didnt comply to Social Services for neglect. She said that plan changes, (which were later approved by the Board) were as follows: 1) Performance bonus based on principal evaluation was dropped and moved to summer work. 2) P.B. was left for 1st and 2nd year teachers, requiring a more detailed evaluation. 3) Some career ladder levels monies were moved from senior level to master.
