Fuelling asked the Council to either cover or pipe the water that runs through an open irrigation ditch. The ditch wanders through the middle oftown and Fuellingfeels it presents a danger to small children who are naturally fas cinated by the running water. Council members supported the idea and will research the possibilities for funding the project The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has earmarked $21 0,000 to build a rest area near Fredonia in 1994. Studies have shown the number one reason tourists stop is to take advantage of restroom facilities. In an effort tohelp ADOT choose the spot most beneficial to the town Mike Mellor, town Marshall, has been investigating the suitability of various properties in Fredonia and discussing with owners their willingness to sell. Mellor told the Council he hasnt found a good spot with a willing seller, but he promised to keep trying. The Council is working with ADOT to make sure the building is nice looking and easy to maintain.
