I was curious about what theyd be sending me in this kind of packaging. I pried off one of the plastic end covers and pulled out the rolled contents. When I unrolled it, I found a d beautiful poster, but I was immediately puzzled about its message. (See the accompanying photograph of the poster.) I had already heard about the Dont Waste Utah" anti-littcampaign of the Utah Department of Transportation. But this slick, very attractive poster did nothing at all to conmessage. The sad and ironic part was that no one had cared enough or tried to help until it was almost too late. My wife, a social worker with the Kaibab Paiute Tribe, made many phone calls to social services, the sheriffs Kanab, and even flagged down the chief of police who only added to the frustration we were already feeling when he remarked, Youve already done all that you can do, just give her a dollar or two for hot dogs and put her back out by the road. Sometimes I wonder if all the publicity about the AIDS epidemic is in reality a cover to suppress or take away our attention from cancer. Dr. Reich was one of the first to warn of the deterioration of the earths environment due to the misuse of nuclear energy, the excessive use of chemicals, the cancer problem and prevention, and child rearing and education. Recently we have all become aware of another INVISIBLE THREAT which will also be visible by the trucking of massive amounts of chemical-toxi- c waste to our neighbors on the Paiute Reservation. Maybe being consistent with the white man after it is a reality, if it should be, you could make it a fitting FULLERS DUMP. I assure you that it will be a lasting memorial for many thousands ofyears and likely be th ere when the tribe is or extinct. Then there is the other INVISIBLE THREAT that cannot be seen or heard or smelled, yet harmful. Its existence has been with us but its effects suppressed by our FAITHFUL SERVANT and the respective cartels. For years harmful extremely low frequencies (ELF) have been non-existe- nt invading our homes and workplaces as well as the atmosphere. Segments of the medical and scientific community, of course not subsidized by your FAITHFUL SERVANT, have been pointing the finger at ELF as the cause of allergic type reaction, convulsions, fatigue, hypertension, migraines, and in 1 982 they were linked to causing 10 percent to See LETTERS, page 6 |
