He couldnt bear to see nail holes in that perfect plaster job. These ideas appeased him somewhat and I got my pictures hung: To avoid experimental holes, we cut paper patterns of all the pictures and mirrors to be hung, then, after finding the exact position for each hanger, we punched a hole in the paper with a sharp pencil to mark the spot on the wall. To keep the plaster from cracking, we placed, cellophane tape over the spot before driving in the nail. We found, too, that you can mark the spot with a wet fingerprint. Wed also like to share several ways to keep pictures straight. 1. Wrap some adhesive tape around the center ofthe picture wire. This keeps the wire from slipping on the hanger. 2. Put masking tape on all four comers of the back of theframe. 3. Wrap toothpicks with tape, sticky side out, and fasten a few of these on the back side of the frame along the bottom. Readers: Keep all those neat ideas coming. We all appreciate them. $2.00 or a copy of Kitchen Tricks is yours if your idea can be used here.
