Utah 1 ORDERVILLE NEWS byTwilaCox Hyrum and Lori Reese of Payson visited with Rex and Lucy Crofts on Thursday; also Jim Heaton, his brother LeMoin and son, Danny, and friend of Kearns visited at the Rex Crofts home. Rexs grandson, Randy Riddle of Las Vegas, is living with them and working at the Thunderbird restaurant for the summer. Sgt. Tim and Jeanette Esplin and three Children of Germany returned to the States and Mrs. Margaret Sorensen and daughter, Lisa, went to Las Vegas on Wednesday to bring them home. They are now in Cedar City with his parents. Merrill and Karen Willis and five children of Pocatello, Idaho visited last week with Roll and and Vivian Chamberlain. Holland and Vivian Chamberlain went to Salt Lake City to visit their son, J.R. and brought their daughter, Alisha, ' home for a k visit. Three state engineers, friends of J.R. also visited at the Chamberlain home. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bowers of LaVerkin were also visitors at the Holland Chamberlain home one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henderson visited in Page, Arizona with Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Frost. They are friends who lived in California when the Hendersons did. Dennis Henderson and family of Las Vegas came to southern Utah to attend a Christian Larson family reunion held at Spring City. They attended with his parents. Bob and Letitia Henderson. Also visiting with the Hendersons recently were Ray and Alita Lloyd of Gridley, California. Sherman and Ella Crosby of Kanab visited at the Allen Cox home on Friday afternoon. Otis and Cindy Baird went to Salt Lake City where Otis will have two-wee- heart surgery. Dale Sorensen spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday at a horseshoe tournament in Cedar City. He was accompanied on Saturday by son, Curtis Sorensen, and Justin Johnson of Huntsville, Utah. Farel Lamb spent the weekend in Page at the Ron Lamb home. Mrs. VeRene Tait of Fredonia visited with her father Lawrence Sunday. Esplin on ' M)s.. ' Arlene .Sorensens parents have been here visiting her family. Kyron Sorensen of Page, Arizona visited in Orderville last Saturday. At Beth Sorensens home were her son, Mack, and son and friends and daughter. Mavis. Ward conference was held for our ward in Glendale on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Cary Reese and children of Phoenix visited at the John Reese and Mutt Fulmer homes in Mt. Carmel. A Daddy and Daughter Date program was held Saturday night under the direction of Mrs. Donna Adair. Mr. and Mrs. Chet Tait and other family members attended an Anderson reunion at Harris Flat on Saturday and Sunday last week. Conch and Amy Levanger attended a Harris reunion in Glendale on Saturday. An Ira Adair family reunion was held last week with Hogan Adair family, Don Wagners, Wilda Ball, husband and family of Idaho, Wayne and Jackie Adair and Jennifer, Cheryl and Chris Adair of Las Vegas attending. Larry Esplin family had a reunion with Tim and Jeanette Esplin, recently of Germany; Richard and Susan, Todd and Heidi MacFarlane. These family members visited Laurence Esplin and the B.P. Fishers. Mr. and Mrs. Barton Cox and four children of Orangeville, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Cox of Las Vegas were at the Allen Cox home Friday night and Saturday for a Cox reunion. COME JOIN THE FUN Dick and Dantzelle Eincrson moved their "Photo Shack" shop to Kanab because "We hope to make a living here." According to Dick Emerson, a friend introduced the couple to the advantages of opening their photo shop in Kanab. Dick said he and Dantzelle visited Kanab while considering the move and were immediately sold on the idea of changing their business location from Roosevelt to Kanab. "Kanab is a tourist town and it looke to me that ("The Photo Kanab Shack") was something could use," said Dick. The new Kanab shop is located next to Century 2IFronticr Realty on Center Street. Dick and Dantzelle have been in the photo developing business for two years. When in Roosevelt, they also sold videos. However, they said they won't sell or rent videos at their new Kanab shop. They will sell Indian pottery on the side, though. Dantzcile's father and brother-in-laown a pottery business in Blanding and will supply "The Photo Shack" with Navajo and Ute pieces. Ruth Palmer and some members of her family are spending some time at their summer home in Glendale. Ruth expects to stay until July 30. tame home. REUNION TIME IN GLENDALE Summer is the time for the gathering of the clans a time for renewing acquaintances, digging up memories, swapping new experiences and making future plans. There have been several families and friends doing all of the above. The descendants of Chris and Charlotte Harris Levanger gathered at the Glendale City Park for a day together on Saturday, June 20. They were represented by all four of their children and most of their grandchildren and great grandchild- ren. Waldo and Rose Springville, Leah and Gendale, Alonzo and Orderville and Melba Terry from Henderson, came from Mark from Amy from and Melvin Nev. Saturday, June 27, the dants of Israel and Lottie Hoyt gather at Birch for their annual family reunion. This large family were also well represented. The descendants of Magnus and Lucy Prince Anderson gathered again at Harris Flat on Cedar Mountaon. All of their living children and spouses were there, descen- In Opening just two weeks ago on Kanab's Center Street is "The Photo Shack," a one-hophotograph developing center, owned and operated by a couple from Roosevelt along with children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were 120 there to share in the festivities. The reunion this year was hosted by the children of Dee and Reva Anderson. There were crafts and games for everyone. The horseshow games and the breaking of the pinatas are becoming a tradition. The women did Swedish wheat weaving and huck embroidery. The children made clapper boards. The meal was roast pork with all the trimmings. We stayed over for a Sunday meal of roast turkey with everything. The site looked like a KOA Campground.
