I hey were Katherine Baird, daughter ol Arden Baird. Brenda Crofts, daughter ol the Lineoln Crofts; Jana MeMullin, daughter of the Riehard McMullins; Alauna Hoyt, daughter ol the Val Hoyts. Their graduation is was attended by some ol the parents. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Goulding are the proud parents of a daughter born Saturday. The little miss has one sister and four brothers who are real excited about her. Grandparents arc the Clyde Gouldings ol Glendale and the Val Hoyts ol Orders illc. Word was received here of the death ol Opal Rile of Idaho. Her daughter. Colcnc Ramsay, of the Junction was with her at the time of her death. Karl and family went to the services. The Kyran Sorensens of Page visited at the Uburn Sorensen home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Winter and daughter of California arc here visiting the Chick Winters. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence B. Ksplin and two children of St. George, Utah are here spending the summer. Lawrence is working for his Grandpa Fisher. I hey are living in the Larry Ksplin home. I he Gain Ksplins are enjoying a vacation in California. They will visit the Hal Lambs while there, and go to Disneyland. We received a nice rain storm on I uesday ol last week but it's been on the cool side since. Word was received of the death of Keith Kiddle. Funeral services were held in Kanab. some of the townspeople attended. Vilale Ksplin left this week lor a tour ol Jerusalem; she will meet a granddaughter there and they will return home together. Ruby Ksplin received word ol the birth ol a granddaughter, to her daughter, Joyce, and husband. They have two boys. Ruby went to Cedar City to help with the new arrival. Mr. and Mrs. Webster Adair went to Las Vegas to visit their children there. Christopher Adair returned home with them. Word was received of the death ol Val and Krma Chamberlain's daughter in Mesa. Mrs. Arel Chamberlain and Mrs. Glen Chamberlain went to Mesa to attend the services on Saturday. Our sympathy goes out to the V al Chamberlains. Visiting at the Mack Ksplin home is their daughter. Rebecca Buescher, Irom her home in lucson. Ari.. Jodi Wall of Bountiful and Amy Vowels ol Orem are visitors at the Lugenc Russell home. Susan Reese and Gordon Reeve were married in the St. George Temple today, with many friends and relatives attending. A reception is being held tonight at the Orders illc Ward Cultural Hall. I he Keenan Harts are spending the weekend in New Castle and Cedar City visiting their parents. I hey will also attend the wedding reception ol the J. Lynn Ksplins. held at the Lynn Janies Ksplin home. Dies Tuesday, Passes Away Funeral Today In Salt Lake Rowland W. Rider, 93, died June 7. 1984 ol natural causes. Born September 28, 1890 in Kanab. Utah, the 13th child of John, ami Mary McDonald Rider. Married Romania Fawcett June 5, 1917 in the St. George LDS Temple. She died January 30. 1979. Member of the I DS C Iturch. Mr. Rider was a veteran of World War and aided war efforts during W'orld War II. He established 1 Ruler Ray J. Palmer and Plasties Knginecring Imp. ol Salt Lake City in 1946. He was known nationally as a siory-tcllol Western folklore. Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law- . Max W. and Gwendolyn Ruler, Salt Lake City; daughter and Ramona and Richard Murray. Cherry Hill. N.J.; eight grandchildren. 19 Preceded in death by son, Bert Ruler. I uncial services were held Monday, June II. at the Douglas Ward C liapcl in Salt Lake City. Interment at lake Hills Memorial Park. Sandy, under the direction of Deseret Moi l nary in charge. Honored In Funeral Service Kay Joseph Palmer, age 79, died Sunday. June 10. 1984, at his home in Alton. Mr. Palmer was born July 18, 1904 in Mt. Carmel, Utah to Joseph and Helen Jane Robertson Palmer. His schooling was obtained at Ordcrvillc, Alton and Dixie College. He worked as a farmer and sheepman in Alton most of his life. On June 1, 1927 he married Melba Pugh in the St. George Temple and for the past 25 years they have spent their winters in St. George working in the temple w here he has done over and 250,000 7,000 endowments baptisms and confirmations. As an active high priest, Brother Palmer has served ten years in the Alton Bishopric, many years on the Kanab Stake High Council, president of the Y.M. Mutual at Alton. He and Sister Palmer served a mission to the Florida Tallahassee Mission from 1973-7Mr. Palmer was also active in business and community functions, serving five years as President of the Kane County Farm Bureau, five years on the ASC Committee, Kane County Commissioner for four years and served many years on the Alton Town Board and the Alton Water Board. He is survived by his wife, Melba, of Alton, children: Elgin Ray of Pensacola, Florida. Mrs, William (Helen) Maekclprang of Henderson, Nev.; Mrs. Riehard (Donna) Caine of St. George, Robert Kay of Henderson, Nev.; Delbert Ross of Ordcr-.villCharles Joseph of- Denver, iCulU.;Jnd Wendcl Blain of Cl inf on, Utah, 36 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Pugh ol Kanab. Contact Vicki Parker for any questions. 1 644-510- Kane Delegates Head For Salt Lake Demo Confab Kane County delegates to the Democratic State Nominating Convention prepared to leave today lor the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City where the convention will meet on June 15 and 16. Leading the Kane County delegation will be Bernice Robinson and her husband, Whit. Also representing the Color Country area are Joe and Marjory Woll of Vermillion Drive in the Ranchos and Dorothy Ripper of Hillside Drive in Kanab. The Democrats will meet in the new section of the Salt Palace in Exhibit Hall HA. The Robinsons and the Wolfes will also be working at the registration table for Kane County, which requires coverage on Friday evening to fv inH on Saturdav from Irom 8 to 9. In the contested gubernatorial race between Wayne Owens and Kem Gardner, the registration agents will be responsible lor hav ing the delegates sign for ballots. Balloting for the gubernatorial nomination will occur later in the morning on Saturday. Delegates reported to county chair. Don Fyfc, that they have been contacted heavily, especially by Gardner, who is fighting the name recognition of the popular Wayne Owens. Delegate Wolfe indicated that he would not hesitate to bring up consumer issues in the caucuses or on the convention floor. Local Democrats arc eager to hear reports from Kanab delegates. A. A. She was born October 24. 1911 in Kanab to John and Fannie Bunting Cram. She married LaVar Orson Pratt. September 8, 1930 in St. George, Utah. Survivors include her husband, LaVar. ol Kanab; children: son Louis LaVar Pratt ol Kanab. Three grandchildren, Kathy (Mrs. J. Low Barton) ol Paragonah; Beverly (Mrs. Gary Nelson) of Boulder City, Nevada; Louis Jr. ol Fillmore. Utah; two Sara and Jessica Barton of Paragonah. Sisters Madge Workman, Roosevelt, Utah; LaVon Blackburn. St. George. Ut. ; Brothers Lock Cram. Owen Cram and Norman Cram, all of Kanab. She is preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
