Biyce Visits Drop in Jan. Bryce Canyon National Park visitation was down 47 in January. During the month 3,176 visits were recorded. Park Superintendent Bob Benton blamed the decrease in recreational visits pn the snow and cold weather. The. park received 31 of. snow in January and temperatures were as low as 17 degrees. Benton noted, that the park roads to the main canyon overlooks are plowed promptly after each snowfall and that visitors seldom have any difficulty in getting to the canyon. The park is open all winter. said Benton, and the snow really adds to the canyons scenic beauty. The park campgrounds are closed but food and lodging are available outside the park and in nearby, communities. Snowshoes are available at the visitor center for free use by persons who wish to travel away from the plowed parking areas. -- .
