Show u SOUTHERN UTAH Its a beautiful Mr. arid Mrs. Carlyle S. Hulet are happy to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Lorraine to Timothy Scott Milstead, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie L. Milstead of Anchorage, Alaska. The young couple will be married on Friday, April 25. day in Alton and, as usual, it is still a might cold. It must be the good people with their warm hearts and happy smiles that makes Alton the Camelot of every-one- s dreams, in spite of the temperature outdoors. It is truly Camelot here with perhaps one problem -- - the phone company. Its about time that Alton declared war on those jingling, problem phones! South Central Utah Phone Company is stiU our number one enemy, it seems. Since November (or was it before that?) our phones began to jingle day and night-a- nd they are STILL Alton JINGLING! citizens have reached the end of their patience. Something must be donel We are tired of paying charity to Mr, Burr! Glenna and Wayne Anderson were here on Saturday, their first trip home in a long, long time. In fact, it was the longest duration of time they have been away from Alton during their whole marriage. Their little miracle baby is doing very well. According to her grandparents, baby Jenay is a real darling and enjoyed her first visit to Alton. And the rest of the grandkids enjoyed a good visit too. Esther Heaton is pleased thio weak te ba tahing hor contest play to the State Drama Meet in Provo soon. Congratulations, Esther. The sixth graders, too, put in on plays this week Mark Palmer, Orderville. Wendy Crosby and Holly Heaton all participated and all three of them did very well. Good work, kids! Shirley Eaves was in town this weekend staying with Vickie Heaton. The girls had a NEWS-Thurs- April 17, day, 1980-P- Seven age School News great time at the Girls Day Dance. Heres quite a coincidence for the records: JoAnn and Vane Campbell called their son. Orlan, in Texas before Easter and found that their grandchildren there had chicken pox. And when they called their other married son in Page, Arizona, they got the same story! Leos kids, too, had the chicken pox at the same time as their Texas cousins. We hope everyone in the family is over their illness! Our favorite Cox family from Orderville were our speakers in Church on Sunday. we enjoyed their humor and spiritual messages as well. We heard from Jay, Lewis, Twila and Allen. Color the birds in Alton this week. They are adding a bright spot to our scene. Adios, Amigos! As another week comes to a close, the end of school seems nearer. This week was again filled with activities. Tomorrow will be the annual here at Valley, consisting of the traditional slave sale, cleaning of the school, and. of course, the seniors painting their number on the hill. There will also be a student-bod- v dance held that night. Elections for Studentbodv officers will be held Friday also, so get out and vote, students! Sunday will find the girls of Valley traveling to Provo to the FHA convention, which will be held Monday and Tuesday at BYU. The girls will be competing in events along with having a lot of fun. The seniors will finally hold their Senior Fun Night on Wednesday, April 23. The fun night has been postponed due to reasons in their control. The Seniors hope everyone will come out and support them in e raising money for their Senior Trip. The night will consist of fun games for everyone of all ages, also some terrific prizes. So come out and support the Seniors. Along with the blooming of the flowers, new sweethearts (which always seem to come with the beginning of Spring) and sunshine, track has come once again to Valley. Last week the track team traveled ttf Kanab to participate in a meet and Saturday they will travel to Page to compete. We wish them lots of luck! Just as a reminder. Cheerleading tryouts are coming so all you prospective cheerleaders, start getting ready. Thats all for this week - so until next week. See ya! soon-to-b- Spring Fishing At Its Best Creel census information has revealed excellent fishing success at Lake Powell. According to Utah Division of Wildlife Resources fisheries biologists stationed at Lake Powell, fishermen are getting excellent" resulfiT'fishing for crappie and largemouth bass. After spending many days questioning fishermen to tabulate the number and kinds of fish caught, the biologists concluded fishing success is probably better now than it will be for the rest of the year. Fishing has improved because warming water temperature has caused the crappie and largemouth bass to move into shallow water in preparation to spawn.
