They began the day with the annual Breakfast Safety Meeting held at the Four Seasons Restaurant at 7:30 a.m. Company officials up from Phoenix were Don Neilsen. sales representative, convention center and included all employees and their partners. About 50 people took part. Five-yea- r service awards were presented to several employees and there were drawings throughout the evening for a watch, electric drill, a Coleman stove, metric tool set, a coffee maker and a food processor. Miss Gorham challenged the volunteers to assess accomplishments of the participants so that each exhibitor is proud of what he or she has done and is encouraged to try for a higher goal. Fair time is fun time in Utah. County fairs bring people together with like interests where they can compare their achievements. They teach and stimulate the community in addition to providing interest and pleasure to the many fair goers. Good fairs are the result of good planning and sound organization. The Utah State University Extension Service has started organizing already for the coming summer with fair judging workshops. Approximately 600 volunteers judge Utah county fairs each year.
