HAMBLIN FEED 644-511- Parents honored Sustained by on Golden Faith in Christ Kanab student SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS Kanab, Utah 6 Dear Editor, In reply to Mr. Carrico and the ALIVE group, I would like to publish the irrigation companys side of the Issue. First, If Mr. Carrico was around 30 years ago he would have been very Impressed with the beauty of this valley when the irrigation water was used for growing fields of wheat, alfalfa, corn and other crops and the cattle men had ample feed for their animals and they could fatten their beef without importing feed, or selling short. Mr. Carrico states that now the water should be used for culinary purposes like grow, ing lawns for beauty and having ample water to flush more toilets. The next item 1 feel is very much disguised is the fact that this ALIVE group is still behind the golf course in the deciding meeting in the city chambers it was stated by Mayor Glazier, there is ample water to sustain a golf course and the city has drilling rights for more now that the golf wells, course has been defeated all of a sudden the city is short of water. What is the real issue????? In answer to the 6 questions or threats made, and incidently, there have been many direct ones also-- - I would like to have published the Kanab Irrigation Co. goals for 1977. Construct auxiliary lines at Tlnney and Hog Canyons to absorb water Into the main line through a leach system, 5. Encompass the Kanab area with a pressurized system to water lawns and gardens. This would entail an outlet adjacent to each residence. Each re. sidence would be charged a flat water usage fee-fowater. 6. I admit there needs to be an agreement reached as to who owns the water rights in Kanab Canyon. However, if a court decides the irrigation filings are only for surface waters, the Kanab Irrigation Co. will be out in left field as our water all comes out of the ground at several different springs in the canyon.
