Carol Joy went to Las Vegas over the weekend to pick up a friend at the airport. Then she said she didnt lose too much money. What could she mean? I never lost my money in an airport. Venna and Neil Haynes went to Salt Lake City weekend before last to taketheirdaughter, Kim, for medical treatment. Mary Ann Dutton had company over the weekend and her daughter is also much better. Ellens grandson, Bobby, is in my Sunday School class. Sunday, as we reviewed several commandments, I asked Bobby if he were trying to keep the commandments and he said, Yes, I am, in my drawer, my top drawer. Mrs. Roundy will be remembered for her church work and as a fe and her help in sickness in our town. Mrs. Mona Reese and son John visited and spoke in our church on Sunday and It was really enjoyable. He recently returned from the Texas Misw, mid-wi- sion. A birthday dinner was held on Sunday at the Thearon Crosby home for Marie and Thearon. Mr. and Mrs. Karl McMullin and family came to do the honors. They are Maries parents. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Roundy and Mr. and Mrs. Orval Palmer attended funeral services in Washington, Utah for Mrs. Hannah Roundy on Friday morn- ing. A birthday party was given on Friday evening, February 25, for Mrs, Laura Campbell at the Alton Ward hall. There were 58 in attendance. Mrs. Campbell and her family moved to Alton when her husband, Lewis Orlan Campbell and his father and brothers purchased the Bybee sawmill in Main Canyon. Her daughter, Mrs. Alien (Twila) Cox and a son, Vane, and families live in Alton. She Is the mother of 8 children, 3 daughters and 5 sons; a daughter, 2 sons and her husband have passed away. They came to Alton In 1931. One son, Dorian, resides in Fairbanks, Alaska, daughter Thora Leach In Panguitch, and a son, Lane, and family In Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Ila Mae Valdez and family in Glendale. She has 38 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Mr, and Mrs. Wayne Anderson and family of Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Roundy and family of Cedar City visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Roundy. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Campbell and girls of Page, Arizona visited at the Vane Campbell home. Brick and Kenya Willard of Ogden visited with their grandmother, Mrs. Lorena Roundy for the weekend. Mrs. Lorena Roundy, Sheldon and other members of their family went on Friday for work at the temple in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Heaton and daughters, Vickie and Anita, and Diane Whipple of Cedar City went to Woodruff, Arizona to visit with Mrs. Heatons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turley, and to attend the wedding of a niece. When they returned Monday, Miss Whipple and Anita relumed to Cedar City with Burton Cox. Elder Kenneth Cox reported his mission in Church on Sunday Evening. Out of town visitors for the occasion were: Mrs. Joyce Johnson and three boys of Huntsville, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Barton Cox and daughter of Orangeville and Burton Cox of Cedar City. Mr. and M s. Bill Worthen, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and two children of Panguitch, Mr. and Mrs. Mark CampbeU and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Valdez and children of Glendale, Mrs. Jillyn Deile and three children from Juneau, Alaska. homes. Emma Hoyt, ve l,d not know where It they would all go r.ext! seems they caught a plane that landed in ttie beautiful land of Hawaii. What a nice trip for them all! Two of our VaUey people have been in hospitals this past w eek; Mrs. Marie llepworth and Mrs. Vauna Covington. They are both back home now and, we hope, improved. Funeral services for Mrs. Henna Roundy were held in W ashington, Utah and then she was brought to Alton, Utah to be buried. Some of the folks from out of town who were here were: Mr. and Mrs. Dan Heaton, Mr. and Mrs. Joel White, and Mr. and Mrs, Sterling Heaton. These folks also stopped in to see Mrs. Amy Crofts while they were in town. RoUand and Wana Hoyt went north for part of last week to see their daughter Laurel and her family. Mrs. Debbie Hoyt had some of her folks visit with her over the weekend. Mrs. Matilda Blackburn was very glad to have her Janice, and her boyfriend stop in to visit with her. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Work man, their twodaughters and a granddaughter, came from Cedar City to ehPck on Mrs. Workmans mother, Marie Hepworth, as she returned home from the hosgrand-dauglit- Mr. Myron Jones came from Salt Lake City and then went on to St. George with his dauMr. and ghter and Mrs. Keith Hepworth, to attend a funeral. The Glen Chamberlain family from St. George were weekend visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arel Chamberlain. Glen and his family will be moving here in the spring. They purchased the Orderville Motel from Sharon and Lorene Lamb. Miss Nancy Lamb came from her schooling in Cedar City for the weekend. She brought two of her friends with her. Stanley Heaton, son of and Cleoma Heaton, was ordained a Teacher and Jason, son of Val and Mera Hoyt, was ordained a Priest. Eric, son of Eugene and Lorene Russell, son-in-la- w, La-mo- Crosby received his duty to God award these took place at church Sunday evening. Elburn and Cleo Sorenson went to California for a few days to visit with some of their friends. The Loyd Heybome family went to Salt Lake City on Friday to take their son, Steven, to the Mission Home where he will be until Thursday morning. He will then fly to Manchester, England to fulfill a two year mission for the L.D.S. Church. Brother and Sister Arthur Pledger were here visiting with Donna Brinkerhoff and family. They are from Ogden. Several couples went to Alton Saturday night to square dance. This will be continued each Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs, Cleon Jackson had a houseful this week: Carma was here from Cedar City, Bruce and his family were here from Page, Mardean and her family were here from up north.
