Show mwm, Its a beautiful, pleasant Fall day here In the Valley, and the folks of this area report to you. Mrs. Marie Caruso has her mother from back East here living with her for awhile. It was a special week end for the Caruso family as their son, Kenny and their grandson Joey, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Caruso, were baptized and confirmed. Mr. Alan Demllle baptized the boys on Saturday evening, then In Sacrament meeting on Sunday evening, Bishop Joseph Bolan-d- er confirmed them members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. Mrs. Margie Crofts came from Vernal, Utah to spend a few days with her folks the Burton G. Rusts. Mr. and Mrs. Re Allen and one of their sons spent a few days In the Valley this past week; they live in Orem, Utah now, but one time this family lived In Ordervllle. On Saturday the family of Edward Lamb helped him celebrate his 96th birthday. The family gathered at Kanab where they all made a tour of the Heritage Home, then a dinner was served at the home of Mr. Lamts granddaughter, Mrs. ID Southern Utah Publishing Att. Mr. J. Wards of the Page Arizona Stake also are planning similar dinners. In Kanab where there are three wards, the Second and Third wards will hold their dinner together In the Cultural Hall of the Kanab Staks Center beginning at 6 p.m. Tbe First Ward will bold their dinner at the Kanab Elementary School beginning at 6 p.m. Fredonia, Glendale, Kalbab and Ordervllle will hold their dinners the same night also. Entertainment and other activities will be held In each ward. girls' tennis Miss Kane County enjoys special day at State Fair The Kanab High School Girls Tennis team Is hosting the region 8 Tennis Tournament on Wednesday, October C, 1973. The KHS girls, Anne Sundw all and Amy Barnson, will besoelng action against Wasatch Academy and the Parowan girls. Play begins at 9:00 a,m. Wednesday on the school and town park couls. Come Join us and suppor- your players for a day of surprises! Those winning the matches here will be eligible for the State Tournament at BYU in Miss Kane Peggy Talt, County, enjoyed a special time at the Utah State Fair on September 16 and 17, where all were Queens County Fair honored during the State Fair. Peggy stayed at tbe Hilton Hotel and was treated to special favors during her tour of the Fair. She met all the dignitaries and guest stars at the Fair. She also enjoyed associating with queens from other counties. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Brlnker-ho- ff and their children came from Cedar City to visit with her folks, Earl and Colleen Sorenson. Mrs. Rena Tail welcomed her son, Bobble and bis wife from Bountiful this past weekend. Mr. Newby made a quick trip to Clearfield on Saturday to see his mother. Bishop and Karen Palmer took their little daughter, Annette to the Kanab hospital on Saturlay and at this time of writing, she Is still there. We hope she is soon better and back home, Sylvia and Cornell Chamber, lain from Blinding, Utah visited with Legrande and Arvllla Heaton. They came tor the baptism of their graudson, Stephen Chamberlain. Why is it we sometimes get so Involved in a project that we cannot see or enjoy the end results? SUSC has on its rolls, three of our students this fall quarter. They are: Nancy Lamb, and Jeanne Newby have returned for another year's schooling, and Miss Sally EspUn entered college as a freshman, having graduated from Valley High School with very high honors. Also Kelly Russell and his wife Shelly have registered for classes again at that school. Going for studies at the Trade Tech at Provo this past week are, Robert Baird, Jeff Esplln, and Wesley Hoyt and Dell Tali of Mt Carmel. The Arden Baird family went north this weekend to help get their son Robert, settled in school and to visit other family members. Wayne and Colleen and their two girls we re weekend visitors at the LaNard Johnson home. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Clark and Mrs. Norene Evans and her daughter came to check on Sessle Clark. Mrs. Lela Lamb has gone back to Salt Lake City with her daughter Lorena, where she will stay tor the winter as Lelas health Is not too good. She came to visit her sister for the weekend. She Is also attending BYU and ahlls from Montana. Mrs. LaVerl Sorenson from Provo, and Mrs. Thelma Slaugh from Salt Lake City, came for a few days to visit with their sisters, Mrs. Mary Jo Barton On and Mrs. Janet Sawjer. Friday evening they, along with Mrs. Linda Crofts, traveled to St. George to see another sister, Mrs. Colleen Andrus, and to see her new home. We sustained a new Sunday School Presidency for the Ordervllle Ward on Sunday. Mr, Quinn Newby was put In as President with counselors, Mr. Doren Lamp and Mr, Clark Lamb. Before the week Is out, lights will be shining from tho new home of Charles and Ida Marie Winters. They lia e worked hard on this home and will be glad to once again be settled Deon Button.
