tabernacle choir tho the affair was not a surprise on 1 sir lee but proved to be very much of 0 a sur price to some of those present especially presidents denti L A snow and W C Vor dorsley sley suon soon after vie tae last quarterly conference the matter of giving a testimonial to aar ir ue lee before he retired from a service that has extended thru a period of thirty two years wis was taken up tip by the stake presidency and some of the members of the tabernacle choir it was considered fitting to have all those who lim have e everdeen ever been members of the chov under sir lee le meet together for an evenings pleasure the number was then increased to include the bishops awl all the stake 0 ulcers officers which brought the total invited up to nearly four hundred the task of getting thena the names of all the past and present choir members w was as no small one as all the old records were lost atthe time the old tabernacle was burned the committee did its very best in this regard and IE i any were missed i V dasent rely teat ional the choir members totaled one hun hundred tired and eighty kieven seven and invitations were sent out to that thai many at the soc social I 1 il praise atter after mr lee had the real surprise of the evening occurred bishop wright was announced to speak on the subject songs song s thel the choir sins sings and after delivering himself of a number of humorous orous stories ho be read a a list of the songs that always I 1 ays pleased him songs that mr I 1 ice ce was alays ill the habit of 0 singing at the right time upon the right light that the choir was entitled to a release and that would then give his successors an opportunity to organize a choir which they would be responsible for this action was heartily sustained by those
