Moss Senator Frank today received the highest award of the American Nursing Home Association at its 21st Annual Convention at Bal Harbour, Fla. The coveted Better Life Award in is bestowed by the ANHA service of recognition outstanding through unselfish and effective efforts that have resulted in lasting contributions to the improved institutional health care of the aged in the community and the Nation. The award was presented to Senator Moss for his diligent efforts to bring about higher standards in long term health care. Robin was taken to the McNary hospital, but because of the nature of the break and shoulder injury he was rushed to the St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix. Russell Tom and Donny Mackelprang were spectators at the game and took Robin to Phoenix. Coach J. B. Jordan also accompanied Robin to the hospital. It was reported Monday morning that Robins arm had been put in a cast and that he would be home soon. Mrs. Konda Button was called to Phoenix Saturday evening because of her son Robins injury in the football game at McNary. Bill McPherson, manager of the former Aki Excelsior Products plant at Fredonia, came over from Gallup, New Mex., to attend to business matters. Although the Aki Excelsior Products Co. have moved their operation to Gallup, New Mex., their 40 x 80 galvanized steel building is being used by Arizona Fuel Corporation as a truck repair Robin Button received a very painful and tragic injury in the very beginning of Fredonia High Schools game at McNary Saturday. Robin was tackled while carrying the ball and one of the opponents helmets hit his left arm and fractured it. shop. Mosher praised Moss because he has repeatedly and consistently championed the attainment and maintenance of truly high standards in the nursing home industry in spite of strong opposition. Senator Moss son, Brian, accepted the award for his father whose Senate responsibilities prevented him from being in Florida to personally receive the award. The results has been a lot of ill fitting uni-- j forms on some players and of course very little protection against injuries. Each fall the Coachs dream has been that he would get players that would fit the available uniforms. To correct this problem the Football Boosters Club is spearheading a fund drive to purchase new uniforms for the football team. Bob Vaughn has g initiated this activity with a one hundred dollar dona-- i tion and Frank Banks of the Border Store followed with a like i When the school year got underway last month, these 14 young men and women had their first taste of college life. Ten are sons and daughters of Kennccott people. All are recipients of $500 scholarship awards. In addition to this group, four other scholars are on the receiving end of $500 study grants. Since the Utah Copper Division scholarship program was launched in 1955, hundreds of young people have benefited. There are no strings attached.
