Garn Swapp 'Rancher of 1969' Gam Swapp, Kanab rancher, has been selected by the Kane seeding 124 acres of land to intermediate wheatgrass. So was the first planting that in 1964 he seeded an additional 140 acres and has continued planting intermediate wheatgrass almost every year since the initial seeding until approximately 350 acres of land has now been planted to grass. Mr. Swapp is a cooperator with the Kane County Soil Conservation District. He has developed a e conservation program with the assistance of the District and the Soil Conservation Service. He uses this long range program in carrying out the conservation work that he applies to his land. suc-cesf- ul County Soil Conservation District board of supervisors as the Outstanding Rancher for 1969 in Kane County, according to Graydon Robinson, chairman of the SCD board. Mr. Swapp owns and operates a 4,146 acre cattle ranch in the Alton area of Kane County. He was selected for this honor because of his fine conservation in range rehabilitation through brush and tree removal and range seeding. In 1963, the program Mrs. Ellen Henderson returned home Sunday after visiting with her sister Sarah Thomas at her ranch near Greeley, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Henderson took her there and she returned by air from Denver to Las Vegas where the Hendersons met her. Sarah is fine and sends her love and best wishes to all her friends. Mr. and Mrs. Tod Glazier spent the weekend at Las Vevas Nev., and also went over to Indian Spring Nev., to visit George and Mary Fisher. Mary has been quite lil recently. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Jameson left this week for a trip to Hawaii. The teams traveled as far as Mesquite, Nev. the brst night. In the game at Salome Friday night the Lynx were victorious On their way with a score of home Saturday they played Virgin Valley at Mesquite, a return practice game. Virgin Valley was victorious in this game with a score of 94 to 80. The Lynx have won all five league games played this season and are now rated Number one in Class C north league. The frustration of not being able to score well also put the Cowboys on edge as they committed a rash of fouls. Kanab scored six from the field and one from the line for a total of seven for the quarter. This game saw the Cowboys spread out the scoring a little more evenly than most of their previous games. Meetings have been set for the second and fourth Thursday of each month. At Mondays meebng Principal, S. Thomas Lawson and Coach Arlyn Hafen discussed the needs of the school for a boosters club and their feelings regarding its organization. Another matter discussed was the possible acquisition of sweaters or jackets for all members of the boosters club. The temporary chairman noted that all interested are cordially invited to attend and become members. Adams is the con of Mr and Mrs. William B Adams, Jr., of Cedar City resident of Adams, a Colton, Calif , graduated from Cedar Citv High Cchool in Cedar City and received his B S degree in zoology from Brigham Young Universi. in Provo in 1963. Prior o joimr- American Airlines, Adams served for six v,ears with the United States Air Force, from P( 3 to 1969. Stationed at Norton Air Torce Base, Calif., he attained the rank of captain Adams is married to the former Lolene McAllister of Kanab and they have three children, Debra 8, Danny 5, and Nanette, 1. The Adamses will now make their home in Washington, D.
