Mrs. Merrill7 Lamb was hospitalized a few days but is home and much better. Don Hepworth son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hepworth had the misfortune of getting his foot in a bike and had to have stitches taken. LoVene Bolander daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Joseph C. Bolander entertained her little friends Thursday on her birthday. The Band concert held by the Valley High School Jr. and Sr. bands was well attended Thursday night. The Primary officers and teachers' entertained their husbands and partners at their annual Christmas Party Saturday night, they presented them with q box of home made candy. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Arel M. Chamberlain and family, Mr. and Mrs. ODean Crofts and son, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Crofts and children went to the temple and had their families sealed to them. Many of the Wqrd members accompanied them down. Baptized members of the LDS Some of the Ward members attended the Parent and Youth night held in the Kanab Stake house Sunday night. The Orderville Ward MIA will hpld a Christmas Party December 22. The Orderville Ward Gold and Green Ball will be held Decembr 25th. Everyone is invited to attend. sev-er- al Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Lane Hoyt spent Saturday in Cedar City The Kanab Cowboys swung the doors open with a bang for basketball season their 1964-6by showing the fans what a good season they have planned for this year. The game Thursday proved to be a thrill packed one, when the Gunnison' Bulldogs edged the Cowboys 55 to 52, then Friday the Cowboys traveled to Piute and tramped them with a score of 70 to 62. Saturday Virgin Valley came to Kanab with pretty high spirits, but left feeling pretty low when the Cowboys flattened them by 4 points. The Larriettes and Kettes are marching their legs off and getting ready for the basket ball season. They displayed their talent when the Larriettes marched at Piute. The band and chorus will present their annual Christmas Concert December 21. There will be a minimum charge so everyone come out and enjoy a very fine evening of Christmas music. The ninth grade will present their assembly December 23. They have been 'working hard and are expeetd to put on a good assembly. 5 Church were Holly Hoyt daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Val Hoyt, ,GH Callison daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Callison, Ernest Esplin son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Esplin. Nellie Heaton1 who has been visiting here for sometime returned to Vale, Oregon where she will spend the winter. Grace Heaton while ents went to Salt were Connie and children of Mr. and "Tait of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Val Terry Lewis shop-- . ping. Mr. and Mrs. LaNard E. Johnson spent Saturday in Cedar City shopping. Vdhy lijh School lows nplc3 By Linda Heaton A Christmas pageant prepar- ed by the music department, under direction of 'Mr; Salter, will be presented in the Valley gym Wednesday night at 7:30. This program will portray tin song, story and scenes, the Christmas spirit from the creation of the world to the present day. It should be an outstanding perofrmance. Mr. Salter and his band students also performed before the public Thursday, December 3. At this concert three bands played, two junior bands and the senior band. Martha Blackburn gave a musical reading entitled, Careless Clyde, and Glenna Roundy gave The Nitjht Before Christmas. Both were accompanied by the band. The Buffaloes have played three basketball games this season. The team suffered defeat at both away games with South Sevier and Enterprise, but won their first home game with Guni- - !! ! havo tho tersest your up-to-dat- Drawing for the quilt will be December 17th. A group of Ladies from the - Public ftetlco Kanab Literary League met at the home of Thelma Adams and quilted a lovely quilt that is being raffled, the money from this project will be used to pay for the room the League renovated at the Kane County Rest , take notice that the regular meeting of the Kane County Commission; also, the 1965 Budget Meeting has been changed to Wednesday, De- cemebr 16, 1964.
