Carpenter, 2318 C Sierra Madre, Rancho Cordova, California is one of the more than 600 candidates for degrees at the August 15 commencement of the University of Utah. Mr. Carpenter, 26, formerly of Kanab, Utah, is a candidate for a Ph.D. degree in physics. He minored in4 mathematics and wrote his doctoral dissera-tatio- reunion. Mrs. Prattsmother is the twig on the McNettl family tree to which they are attached. They report a wonderful time. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Stephenson Holden, Utah, have been visiting their grandchildren and daughter in law, Mrs. Beth Stephenson at Fredonia. He attended Kanab High School and College of Southern Utah and received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Utah in 1959. Mr. Carpenter is a member of Sigma Pi Sigma, Physics honor society; and served as a graduate teaching assistant. His wife is the former Maris Adams, Parowan, and they are the parents of two chidren. Mr. Carenter has accepted a position with Aerojet General Carp., Sacramento, California. ren recently returned after spending two weeks in Tucson with Mrs. Mary Ann Smith. Mrs. Smith and children had been visiting the Stevens at Fredonia earlier in the summer. The Dewy Ray family and the Wallace Rogers came from Mesa to spend several days visiting with Mrs. Bruce Cluff and family at Fredonia. Judge and Mrs. Melvyn Shelly and children spent a weekend recently with the Lorin M. Farr, Jr. .family at Fredonia. Judge Shelley is Superior Court Judge in Nav a jo County. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Black and children, Albuquerque, New Mexico, were guests of the Rey Blacks at Fredonia. They came to get their son, Robert Reed, who has spent several weeks with his uncles family. Mrs. Bruce Dyer and sons, Riverside, California are visiting with her parents, The Z. Ray Judds, at . Americas First Lady, Mis. Lydon B. Johnson, will speak briefly at the commencement exercises of the summer gradu ating class, the largest summer group in the history of the Uni versity of Utah. . Fredonia.
