Ksna J 1 ' Meeting flstss Varied Business 1 er Several important items were on the agenda of the Kane County Commission meeting at its regular session Monday in Kanab. In a story elsewhere on this page the important road work in eastern Kane County is reported, which was among the most important. The Clerk was instructed to write or contact members of the proposed new hospital board, also, to obtain bids from interested parties for furnishing, and planting lawn and shrubs at the new . hospital.. H. Bemell Lewis, Jack Church, Marriner Jones and Lester Cottam met with the commission to discuss county participation in bearing the cost of fire fighting equipment, owned by Kanab City. County attorney Tex Olsen advised that in order to establish a special district for fire protection for those outside the city limits, a special-distri- ct would have to be set up and 25 percent of the in such proposed district should petition the county commission to establish such a dis trict. Fallowing the petition, a special hearing and election would need to be held to find if 50 percent of the landowners within the district would accept it If approved then three commissioners for the district would be named and they would set up a taxing unit for same. Mr. MacDonald made the motion that the County Commissioners meet with the City Fire Dept, and offer them a set fee, to be set on each fire call answered outside the city limits. Commissioner Adams seconded the motion. A representative- - of Zion View Mountain estates met with the commission on a proposed 200 lot in Strawberry Valley. On a motion by Mr. Adams, seconded by M r. Chamberlain, Sheriff LaNard Johnson was authorized to extriditg from Colorado and Montana in two felony actions committed in Kane County. After a discussion on tax collection from the George Stevens Movie Company in , eastern Kane County, a motion was made by Mr. Adams and' seconded by Mr. Chamberlain, and by a unanimous vote, it was decided that the county assessor and the county attorney should take what action seemed necessary to collect the personal property tax. Commissioner Adams was to negotiate with the S5ste Road Commission to buy used CMP for County road use. The clerk was instructed to send a second notice of collections to all county businesses who have not obtained a 1963 business license after which collection will be turned . over to the sheriff and the county attorney. land-owne- n Mrs. Myrza Hamblin is back- - in Kjrnab after spending the past several months in Arizona and California visiting with her children and friends.
