Well, one young mother said, Id probably get an extension phone if my house werent so small. This pointed up a curious riddle and set us to thinking small houses about Is your house small because it has one less bedroom than your neighbors? Is it small because it doesnt have a base' ment? Are housewives in big houses the only ones who get tired at the end of the day? Obviously not and no one knows it better than you do when you finally finish the dinner dishes. The fact is that so long as youre fixing meals, making beds, washing clothes, cleaning, dusting and picking up toys, you arent living in a small house. What has all this got to do with an extension phone? Add up the number of trips you take between rooms With a second phone (say in the kitchen), youre bound to save some steps. Your work will be a little easier and your life a little more pleasant. To top it off vou can enjoy a second phone for only pennies a day. The pleasure it will bring is orth much more than that. Talk it over with your family tonight. Then tomorrow, order from out business office or telephone serviceman if you see his truck in your neighborhood well-locat- Presenting the Bell Chime! To continue to clean would over wet the carpet Thus doing irreparable - ' damage. - After blotting up as much moisture as possible, increase the heat and circulation of air to speed up drying. Never should it take more than six to eight hours. 5. Dont delay stain removal The sooner you begin working on it the eaiser it will be to remove. One teaspoon netural soapless detergent mixed with one-hal- f pint lukewarm water will remove most stains, if used properly and in time. Apply it directly to the stain with an eyedropper or sponge. Then sponge from the outer area in with old toweling or other absorbent cloth or paper towels. Blot up sjl excess moisture. If moistue reached the back of the carpet following removal of stain, place several thickness of paper towels or other absorbent material over wet spot and weight down. Change drying material as soon as it becomes damp. All moist ure should be removed in no more than an hour or two. If this last step is not followed, stain from the back of the carpet will be carried to the top of the pile leaving a brown spot. and his fourth child at SL George.
