Alfalfa growers who lost production from .alfalfa weevil last year will be happy to know that heptachlor has been cleared for use on alfalfa in the early spring before hew growth exceeds two inches per acre. This spray is the most effective control we know for alfalfa and the most economical too. Only four ounces of actual heptachlor per acre when applied as above will give complete cori-tro-l. The only regulation is that you do not graze or harvest the treated crop within thirty days of application. Treating alfalfa for weevil in the early spring is cheap insurance.
