Steed, manager of j the Kanab Branch. First State Bank of Salina, released to the Southern Utah News this week the fact that he would resign his position effective January 6, 1961. Mr. Steed said that he and his familyt-regrettevery much the fact that they would probably move from Kanab, but that he felt that he must seek more opportunity than the present position offers, either in the banking field or private business. Mr. Steed came to Kanab when the Branch Bank was opened July 1, 1957. He has served successfully as manager during the four years and has watched the bank progress and grow with five fulltime employees.. He was with the Walker Bank, Midvale Branch, Midvale, Utah as assistant manager previous to moving to Kanab. He has served as Mayor of Kanab; Kane County Chairman of the Republican Party; Director of the Kanab Chamber of Commerce, and has held several responsible LDS Church positions as well as District Committeeman in Scouting for three years. Mrs. Steed has been active in both the Sunday School and Primary of the LDS Church and has worked as a member of the Legion Auxiliary. The Steeds have two children. Mrs. Steed has also helped out in the bank from time to time. ' ?
